Rodney L. 'Moon' Mullins, 61, of Mansfield, died Tuesday, August 29, 2006, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born December 30, 1944, in Oak Hill, West Virginia, he was the son of Clyde and Gwendolyn King Mullins. He worked at General Motors in machine repair. Rodney loved his family, reading, fishing, boating, and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Smith Mullins; two daughters and one son-in-law, Susan Gwendolyn and Steven Burgess of Brownstown, Michigan, and Michele Lea Mullins of Mansfield; son, Matthew Paul Mullins of Milan, Michigan; grandchildren, Leah Isabelle Burgess and Gabriella Grace Burgess; mother, Gwendolyn Mullins of Toledo; brother and sister-in-law, Gary Lee and Linda Mullins of Toledo; three nieces and nephews, Gary Lee Mullins, Theresa Lea West, and Lori Lynn Howard, all of Michigan; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father; two brothers, Jerry and Buck Mullins; sister, Pauline King; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert Paul and Mary Louise Smith.
Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, September 2, 2006, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Mark Bailey of the Mansfield Freewill Baptist Church on Laver Rd.
