Ralph Joseph Pearce, 88, of Mansfield, died late Sunday evening, May 13, 2007, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born December 19, 1918, in Mansfield, he was the son of William and Emma Trobitz Pearce. He retired from Westinghouse Corp. and was a member of Mayflower Congregational church. Mr. Pearce was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Mary A. Everett Pearce; two sons, Joseph Pearce in Mansfield, Russell E. Pearce of Gainsville, Virginia.; daughter, Patricia A. Pearce of Cape Cod, MA; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ida Geiger of Mansfield. Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Lester Pearce.
Friends may call Thursday, May 17 from 6-8 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be at Mayflower Congregational Church Friday at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Rev. Gary Wilson with additional calling from 10-11 a.m. Military graveside services conducted by Richland County Joint Veteran's Burial Detail will follow in Windsor Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
