Phyllis Irene Buck, 66, of Ontario, Ohio, died Sunday, March 6, 2016 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio surrounded by her children. She was born January 17, 1950 in Mansfield, Ohio, she was the daughter of Russell and Ada (Schnitzer) Niebel.
An area resident her entire life, she loved being with her family especially her children and grandchildren. She worked at Mechanics Bank as a Customer Service Representative and also had worked for WalMart in the photo lab and cell phone sales. She enjoyed flower gardening, taking photographs, fishing at Lake Erie and collecting DVD's and windchimes. She also enjoyed watching Dancing With the Stars, American Idol, Food Network and the Hallmark Channel.
She is survived by a son, John (Mikayla) Kahl of Ontario; a daughter, Stacey (Dave) Hammer of Mansfield; her parents, Russell and Ada (Schnitzer) Niebel of Mansfield; four grandchildren, Matthew Parrish, Anthony Parrish both of Bucyrus, John Kahl, II and Marlee Kahl both of Ontario; two sisters, Vickie (Don) Aldrich of St. Petersburg, Florida and Susan Neutzling of Mansfield; three nephews, Shawn Kempshall of Vandalia, Illinois, Brian Kempshall of Cocoa, Florida and Nick Neutzling of Canton, Ohio; a niece, Kim Rothgery of Elyria, Ohio; and a host of very close friends and adopted family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Buck in 2008.
Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2016 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. March 12, 2016 at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Kenny Morris. Memorial contributions may be made to any Mechanics Bank location to the Phyllis Buck Benefit Fund.
