Paul F. Parsons, 60, of Mansfield went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born on October 10, 1957 in Man, West Virginia. He was the son of Rev. Ralph and Mary (Fowler) Parsons.
Paul was a graduate of Crestline High School and was plant manager and designer for 25 years with Wick's Lumber but his most recent employer was 84 Lumber. The rock of his family, Paul was the protector, a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. Loving, thoughtful, inspiring with his words and gentle lion describes Paul. Paul was a devoted and faithful member of Dean Road Freewill Baptist Church where he was a minister and taught Sunday School. He had a great love for his church, sharing the gospel and worshipping the Lord. Paul loved to sing gospel music and traveled for many years in a gospel group with his wife, Pam and friends He loved family vacations to the beach, working and golfing. But most of all, he loved his family and he will be dearly missed by many.
Paul leaves behind his wife of 39 years, Pamela Parsons; daughters, Nichole (Scott) Carrier of Galion and Amanda (Greg) Barker of Mentor; his dad and stepmother, Rev. Ralph W. and Lois Parsons of Bucyrus; granddaughter, Mackenzie Carrier; brothers, Larry (Nelda) Parsons of Bucyrus, Rev. Ron (Pat) Parsons of Crestline, Rev. Dave (Joan) Parsons of Mansfield, and Glenn (Janice) Parsons of Nevada; sisters, Phyllis (Junior) Morgan of Bucyrus and Joyce (Rev. Fred) Crank of North Carolina; sisters-in-law, Hope Bradshaw of Mansfield and Karen (David) Wyatt of Akron; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews; great-great nieces, great-great nephews; many close friends; and a host of church family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Fowler Parsons; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Donald (Maxine) Conn.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 13, 2018 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Road from 5:00-8:00 pm. An additional hour of calling will be held from 9:30-10:30 am on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the funeral home. The funeral service will follow at 10:30 am. Paul will be laid to rest at Oak Grove Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Paul to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society 2215 Citygate Drive, Suite A Columbus, OH 43219.
