Patty Sue (Mullins) Hamilton, 75, of Mansfield passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017 at UH Samaritan Medical Center. Patty was born on December 17, 1941 in Portsmouth, OH to the late Jack and Pearl (Salyers) Mullins.
Patty moved to Mansfield as a young child and attended Mansfield Senior High School. Patty retired from Gorman Rupp in 1996 and had previously worked at Ideal Electric, Hartman Electric and the United States Post Office in Mansfield. She was a member of Diamond Hills Baptist Church. She participated in many fundraising events for a variety of charitable organizations and proudly participated in walk-a-thons for 20 years prior to her illness. Patty was a devoted, loving mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her friends and family. She was an intelligent, witty woman that was well versed with historical and political events. Patty was very content being at home and "doing her thing" but when she was able she greatly enjoyed going to Bellville and shopping.
Left behind to cherish her memory are three children, Dona (Michael) Zeigler, Scott (Melba) Hamilton, and Shawn (Connie) Hamilton; six grandchildren, Jamie Davis Peterson, Crystall Davis (Rusty Roth), Michael Vance, Jacob Gerhart, Jason Hamilton, and Kameron Hamilton; six great grandchildren, Justus, Jadon and Keilah Bartman, Kamon Webb and Grayson and Kingston Peterson; and two brothers, Samuel (Susie) Mullins and Ralph (Kathy) Mullins. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Pauline Mullins Elston; and brother, John Mullins.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2:00-3:00 pm on Friday, July 7, 2017 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St. Mansfield. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Red Cross, 39 N. Park St. Mansfield, OH 44902.
