Patsy L. Burkhart, 75, of Lexington died Monday evening, April 7, 2003 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after a brief battle with cancer. Patsy was born March 18, 1928 in Logan, West Virginia to the late Joseph and Catherine Fillutzy Fama and was an area resident most of her life. She was a graduate of Mansfield Senior High School. She attended Crossroads Community Church where she had a close church family. Patsy was a dedicated wife and mother who loved her children and grandchildren. She was an avid golfer and loved to cook and entertain for family and friends. She was a past member of BIA Women's Auxiliary.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, James S. and Michelle Burkhart and their children, Reed and Shanelle, John F. and Kathy Burkhart and their children, J.J. and Katie, and Jeffrey A. and Teresa Burkhart and their children, Nicole and Alex; a daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Tom McCready and their children, Graham and Gabe; seven sisters, Mary Valerio, Rose and Mick Fanello, Eve McCarrick, Fran and Marv Bender, Jo and Duane Touby, Toni and C.L. Thompson, all of Mansfield and Tresa and Jack Wehinger of Racine, Wisconsin; and many nieces, nephews and special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James D. Burkhart in 1995; brother, Joseph Fama; sister, Janie Stiteler; and grandson, Jeffery Allen Burkhart, Jr.
Friends may call at Crossroads Community Church, 1456 Park Avenue West, Thursday, April 10 from 3:30-6:30 p.m. Family and friends are encouraged to attend a memorial service, conducted by Pastor Tim Armstrong at 6:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Crossroads Community Church Project Build Campaign.
