Nancy Carole Ludwig, 70, of Mansfield, died Friday, October 18, 2013 at Overlook Medical Center, Summit, New Jersey. Born February 14, 1943 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Robert Jean and Helen Caty (Moritz) Harmon.
She graduated from Madison High School in 1961 where she was a member of the National Honor Society, was a cheerleader and was president of the Girls Athletic Association. She went back to college in 1979, receiving her LPN in 1980 and worked as a LPN with newborns. She enjoyed politics, gardening and holidays and loved the outdoors and any kind of animal. She was a longtime member of the Mansfield Choral Society. Her family was her life and she loved traveling with them and supporting her children and grandchildren in their school activities.
She is survived by her husband, Charles "Chuck" Peter Ludwig whom she married in January of 1963; a daughter, Melanie (Chris) Lienhart of Cincinnati; two sons, Steven (Kim) Ludwig of New Jersey and Michael (Margaret) Ludwig of Strongsville; a step-daughter, Megan Ludwig of Mansfield; seven grandchildren, Kathryn and Luke Ludwig, Michael and Matthew Ludwig and Lauren, Elizabeth and Nicholas Lienhart; her mother, Helen Moritz Harmon; two sisters, Beverly Hamler and Kathee Harmon Lutes both of Mansfield; a brother, Robert (Eva) Harmon of Ontario; a brother-in-law, Robert (Becky) Ludwig of Ashland; two nieces, Tracy Jordan and Sheree Brown; and three nephews, Rick Hamler, Roger Dailey and Derek Harmon. She was preceded in death by her father.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, October 24, 2013 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m.Friday, October 25, 2013 at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Mary Lou Brook. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
