Mildred "Millie" L. Estep

Mildred "Millie" L. Estep of Lexington, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on December 22, 2020. Millie was born on October 26, 1922, in Clintwood, Virginia, to the late James Calvin and Alafair (Barton) Fleming.

Millie was a devoted mother and grandmother. Family was very important to her. She lived her life striving to make sure her family was always first. Millie loved to cook and garden. She never met a stranger that she didn't have a conversation with.

Left to cherish the many fond memories are her children, James Fritz Estep, Earl Kenneth (Marilyn) Estep, Carol Takacs, and Emory (Sharon) Estep Jr.; eleven grandchildren, Teresa (Scott) Starkey, Diane (Bob) Larrick, Margaret (Mike) Ludwig, Dawn (Jeff) Wymer, Rebecca McQuillen, Karla (John) Eppley, Kandi Takacs, Daniella Price-Christy, Curt (Julie) Pence, Shawn Pence and Jeremiah Pence; sixteen great-grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Emory Estep Sr.; son-in-law, Terry Takacs; daughter-in-law, Betty J. Estep; grandson, James Anthony "Tony" Estep; sisters, Goldie Large, Gertrude Rose Hess, Frances Kelley Pugh, Agnes Green Hall, Minerva French, Hattie Clonts, Maggie Deloach, and Gracie Hill; brother, Stanford Fleming, Richard Fleming, Phillip Fleming, Emory Fleming, Ranel Withrow, Fred Withrow, Jahue Barton, and twin brothers, Grady and Brady Fleming who were raised in the family by James Calvin and Alafair Fleming; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held. A public graveside service for anyone wishing to attend will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. in Mansfield Memorial Park, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband. Pastor Dan Zediker will officiate the service celebrating Millie's life. The family asks everyone to follow the guidelines for Covid-19, wear a mask and maintain appropriate social distancing. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Richland County or the Troy Township Firefighters Association. There will be a celebration of Millie's life held at a future date.

The family would like to thank the staffs at Arbors of Mifflin and OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital for the care they gave to Millie. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the family.
