Michael “Mike” Burl Kniceley of Mansfield, Ohio passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at OhioHealth Hospital, Mansfield. He was 74 years old. A life-long Mansfield resident, born on April 2, 1950, he was the oldest of five children of Roberta (Walker) and Olney Kniceley.
Upon graduating from Lexington High School, he proudly served his country with the US Navy for two years, serving on the USS America (CVA 66). He then worked at PPG for more than 40 years. Mike married Cathy Shaffer and they had two sons, Shane and Chad. Mike and Cathy shared 48 years of marriage before her passing in 2022. Mike loved playing golf and euchre.
Mike is survived his sons, Shane Kniceley and Chad Kniceley; grandchild Gavin Nace, siblings Lenna (Jim) Jamison, Debbie (George) Stallard and Keith Kniceley; and mother, Roberta Kniceley.
He was preceded in death by his wife Cathy (Shaffer) Kniceley, father Olney Kniceley and sibling Kirk Kniceley.
There will be no services. Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services by Wappner is honored to serve the family.
