He leaves behind a legacy of love for God, family and country. Glen was born on September 21, 1924 to John and Della (Erwin) Boggs in Olive Hill, Kentucky. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II in the Pacific. Glen was a member of the Grand Lodge of Kentucky #145, F. & A.M., Grayson, Kentucky. He was an active member of the Shenandoah Christian Church where he was a past deacon.
He is survived by his longtime sweetheart, Mary Elizabeth (Mayo) Boggs whom he married May 26, 1951; their children, Roy (Sharon) Boggs of Shenandoah, OH, Sheila (Al) Bechtel of Bellville, OH, Edna “Susie” (Rick) Beckwith of Ontario, OH and Rod (Amy) Boggs of Minford, OH; nine grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; and a brother, Leo Boggs of New Carlisle, OH. In addition to his parents, Glen was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Briahna Beckwith; two brothers, Ora and Virgil Boggs; and a sister, Eleanor Messer.
Friends may call from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2012 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at the funeral home conducted by his nephew, Rev. Kevin Boggs. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice.
