Kathleen was born March 10, 1943 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Elwood Hoffman, Sr. and Mary (Moran) Hoffman. She often spoke fondly of summers spent with her mum (Grandma Moran).
She attended Ashland High School, graduating in 1961. On September 15, 1962 she married her best friend and love of her life, Dennis Sackett, who survives. She proudly earned her bachelor’s degree from Ashland College in 1988.
In Ashland, Kathleen worked at Gilbert Furniture Store and Ashland College (Ashland University). She relocated to Reynoldsburg in 1989 where she and Denny lived for 27 years. She retired from JP Morgan Chase.
Kathleen was a strong woman of faith and an active member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Reynoldsburg and most recently Peace Lutheran Church here in Ashland. She was a dear friend to many especially her quilt guild at Messiah Church.
Kathleen always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone. She spent her time antiquing, sewing quilts and making her family prized pies. Reruns of Gunsmoke and old Westerns were her guilty pleasures.
She was a loving Mother to both Sally Ann of Wooster and Kimberly (Kurt) Oberholtzer of Ashland. Also mourning her passing are her grandchildren, Colin and Nicholas Betts, as well as MacKenzie Oberholtzer; brother Lyle (Donna) Hoffman; brother-in-law Duane (Peggy) Sackett; nieces and nephews, Mark (Abbey) Hoffman, John (Debbie) Hoffman, Tina (Ray) Barnett, Mike (Teresa) Hoffman, Paul Hoffman, Greg (Robin) Sackett and Ginger (Mike) Glaser. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Elwood Jr., Wayne Hoffman; and nephews, Robert and Brian Hoffman.
A life well lived is a beautiful thing.
