Judith "Judie" K. (Sedwick) Washington

Judith “Judie” K. Washington, 82 of Mansfield, Ohio passed away at her home on Tuesday, December 27, 2022. She was born in Jackson, Ohio on July 16, 1940 to the late Tom Leach and Margaret (McDaniel) Roach.

Judie lived most of her life in Mansfield. She had worked at Porky’s Drive In for 17 years and was a hostess at Skyway East. She faithfully attended Crossroads Community Church and had served as a greeter.

She is survived by her son, Bob (Dee) Vail of Lucas, OH; two grandchildren, Rhen (Caitlyn) Vail of Louisville, KY and Christian (Abby) Vail of Columbus, OH; sister, Nancy Schmitzer of Mansfield; nieces, Keri (Bobby) Myers and Shelley Blackford; nephews, Joey Schmitzer and Cork Blackford; and great-niece, Evie Myers.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Washington; brother-in-law, Kenny Schmitzer; and sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Jack Teschler.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield, Ohio 44902. A service will follow at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest in Mansfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Community Church, 1188 Park Avenue West, Mansfield, Ohio 44906 or to the Humane Society of Richland County, 3025 Park Avenue West, Mansfield, Ohio 44906.
