Jean Daniels, 83, beloved Wife, Mother, Grandma, and GG passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion. She passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. Jean was born in Paintsville, Kentucky to R.B. and Gladys Harrington. She was the devoted wife of Dan Daniels for 64 years, a love that began with a youthful elopement and grew into a lifelong partnership. Rarely apart, Jean and Dan were the epitome of true love, still enjoying lunch dates and their weekly country line dancing together. She was a member of McElroy Church of Christ.
Jean was a loving mother to two sons, Donald, who was tragically lost as a young man, and Jerry (Christine) Daniels. Despite the heartbreaking loss of her eldest son, Jean's strength and grace were unwavering. She poured her love into her grandchildren, Kami and Jeremy, and later cherished the role of GG to her six great-grandchildren—Caden, Broegan, and Brody (children of Kami and Brandon Thompson), and Ryder, Easton, and Owen (children of Jeremy and Ashlea Daniels); two sisters, Pat (Bud) Pelphrey and Linda Harrington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jean loved her life on the farm and found immense joy in sharing it with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her door was always open, her home filled with drinks, snacks, and most importantly, loving words and support for her family.
Her legacy of love, strength, and dedication to her family will live on in the hearts of her husband, Dan, her son Jerry (Christine) Daniels, her grandchildren Kami (Brandon) Thompson and Jeremy (Ashlea) Daniels, her great-grandchildren, and all who knew her.
Guests will be received from 10:00-11:00 am on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Wappner Funeral Directors-Mansfield, 98 S. Diamond Street. Graveside services will follow at Mansfield Memorial Park at 11:30 am where she will be laid to rest.
