Jack was born on April 17, 1949 in Genova, West Virginia. He was the son of William Elsworth Thompson and Mabel Thompson. Jack fought a hard fight with cancer, never letting it get the best of him and capturing every memory that he could along the way. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Jack was a “jack of all trades” and could do just about anything and was very handy when it came to working on cars.
He was survived by his wife, Ilene Thompson; his children, Amy Mays, William Thompson, Robert Thompson, and Jack Thompson Jr.; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren with two on the way; his siblings, Rex (Susan) Thompson, Pete (Sheila) Thompson, Arlen (Deb) Thompson, Cathy Thompson, and Katherine Thompson; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Georgia May (Paul) Lawson, Russell Thompson, and William Jr. “Doc” Thompson.
