Gerald "Jerry" D. Link

he was the son of Gerald P. and Debra (Miller) Link.

Jerry was a graduate of Lexington High School, Class of 1990. He was a veteran of the United States Army, entering in 1990, where he served both domestically and overseas until receiving

an honorable discharge in 1994. He had worked in the manufacturing field as an assembler before being forced into an early retirement due to his illness.

Jerry had a wonderful disposition. Dealing with the illness he was dealt, he never had a negative demeanor and always fought with an “I got this” attitude. He was a very kind hearted and gentle

soul. He had a natural ability to make all those around him feel better with his unique, infectious laugh. His younger years were spent playing the bass guitar and jamming with his friends in

their band, “Hemlock”. And if he wasn’t jamming, he could be found hanging out and camping at his favorite place, Hemlock Falls. Known as Jerry and “Mouse” by those who knew him best,

he will be greatly missed.

He is survived by a sister, Jennifer (Herbert) Harkness of Lexington? two brothers, Jason Link and Jeffrey Link both of Mansfield? two nephews, Anthony and Alexander Harkness, and a host

of Aunts, Uncles and cousins. In addition to his family, he is survived by a special group of friends that remained by his side through it all, and some special caretakers from Lexington

Court Care that treated him like family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Murla Link and William and Doris (Stout) Miller, Aunt Darlene Shaw, and Uncles Clarence Link, Harvey

Link, William Link, and Jim Miller.

In lieu of traditional services, the family is inviting those who knew him and those who would like to offer their condolences, to please join them in a Celebration of Life for Jerry. This will be

held on Saturday, August 6, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Hemlock Falls Field Trip Center, at Mohican Outdoor School, and is located at 5370 Bunker Hill North Rd., Butler, Ohio. Private services

will be held at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio, Huntington’s Disease Society of America, or to the family.
