Ethyle May Snyder, 91, of Englewood, Ohio, passed away early Saturday morning, April 14, 2018, in Dayton, Ohio. She was born May 24, 1926, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Martin and Katherine (Kurry) Bocka.
Ethyle was a homemaker her entire life and had lived in Seminole, Florida, for nearly 30 years before moving back to Ohio in 2014. She enjoyed traveling, listening to music, playing on the computer and bird watching. Ethyle collected bears all her life and had amassed a collection of hundreds over the years.
She is survived by two daughters, Rita (Michael) Howard of Mansfield and Karen (Ron) Lee of Englewood, OH; son, Bruce Snyder of Greenville, OH; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey Snyder, Robyn (Sunny) Merchant, Tamara Carroll, Whitney (Levi) Zeigler, Nathan Snyder, Henry Snyder and Brady Howard; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Ethyle was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Merlin Henry Snyder on January 17, 2004; parents; two brothers, Harry Bocka and Emil Bocka; and three sisters, Sarah Rice, Mary Bocka and Dorothy Bocka.
The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Matthew Pond officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Mansfield Memorial Park.
