Ernest Thomas Johnson

Ernest Thomas Johnson, 76, of Mansfield, Ohio passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Summa - Akron Hospital. He was born in Mount Vernon, Ohio on January 24, 1946 to the late Thomas and Betty (Ogle) Johnson.

Ernest always kept himself busy and enjoyed helping others. He loved his dogs and spending time with family and friends, cherishing every moment spent with them. He enjoyed golfing and hunting, especially turkey and deer hunting.

Ernest is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Linda (Brandt) Johnson; son, Eric (Karen) Johnson of Mansfield; brother, Mike Johnson; five grandchildren, Adam, Alexis, Shannon, Nate and Justin; and great-grandchildren, Kody, Karter, Elly, Trysten, Knox, Chastin, Asher, Logan, Dawson and Noah; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Ernie Johnson Jr.; brother, Charles Johnson; and sisters, Linda and Jackie.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 15, 2022 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield, Ohio 44902. In lieu, of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
