Doris J. Browning, 81, of Perrysville, Ohio, went to rest in the arms of Jesus on Monday, June 21, 2021 after a brief illness at OhioHealth Mansfield under the care of OhioHealth Hospice. Doris owned a beauty salon in Mansfield for many years and a realtor in Ohio. She was also a substitute teacher and a volunteer for North Central Hospice. Besides her full time job creating master pieces with client hair she was an avid gardener and landscaper. She would spend hours and days working in her gardens and mowing her beautiful yard. She spent her lifetime caring for others. She had a servant heart and turned no one away if they were in need.
Doris is preceded in death by her spouse of 25 years, Dwight A. Browning of Perrysville; her mother and father, Sammy and Rosie McCoy; her sisters, Bonnie Durfee and Kay Williams; and brothers, Earl Elswick, Robert McCoy, and Cecil McCoy. She is survived by her four remaining sisters, Martha, Wanda, Dreama, and Faye; her children, Gail (Tia) Hellinger of Doe Run, Georgia, Randy Hellinger of Niceville, Florida, Dan (Terry) Hellinger of Perrysville, Ohio, Tim (Lynn) Hellinger of Gaylesville, Alabama, and Cindy Barton of Perrysville; her grandchildren, Jason (Brittany) Hellinger of Perrysville, Ohio, Jon (Katie) Barton of Ashland, Ohio, and Jennifer (Tylor Watson) Barton of Perrysville, Ohio, Alisa (Brian) Little of Maeville, Florida, Tsukasa Scott Hellinger of Okinawa, Japan, and Travis Hellinger of Ohio. She was able to hold her most recent addition to the family her great grandson, Carter Watson of Perrysville.
A private graveside service will be conducted according to her wishes on Saturday, July 17, 2021. In lieu of flowers, please donate OhioHealth Hospice in honor of Doris Browning or plant a garden in memory of our beloved Mother. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the Browning family.
