He worked at Gorman-Rupp Pumps for 45 years. Doc enjoyed hunting, shooting and fishing and was a lifetime member of Richland County Fish and Game Club. He enjoyed spending time at the clubs. He also enjoyed time spent with his family. He attended First United Methodist Church and was a father figure to his grandsons, who were taught by his example.
On June 21, 1965, he married Dolores Daugherty and they shared 60 wonderful years together. In addition to Dolores, he is survived by three children, Doug (Beth) Daugherty, DeeDee (Doug) Dull and DiAnna (Doug) Danner; sister Pat (Mel) Sutton; brother Dennis (Sandy) Daugherty; grandchildren, Greg Daugherty, David Daugherty, Brian Call, Travis Cornell and Julia Aumend; great grandchildren, Grace Call, Brian Call, Addison Cornell and Avery Cornell; close friend, Terry Bradley, and many cherished family and friends.
Doc was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Mickey Daugherty.
The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Wappner Funeral Directors-Mansfield, 98 S. Diamond Street. The memorial service will follow at 4:00 p.m. An urn committal will be held at a later date at Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio Health Hospice or The Shriners.
