Charles was born on February 4, 1953 in Mansfield, Ohio. He was the son of Charles and Norma (Powers) Rowalt. Charles was employed at Food Town for 30 years, and retired from The Ohio State Reformatory where he was a correctional officer for 10 years. Charles led by example and was a great role model for his children and grandchildren. He taught them how important a good work ethic in life was necessary to be successful. An avid Dallas Cowboys fan, on game day you could always find him cheering them on. Charles was a car enthusiast, enjoyed yardwork, and was a lover of dogs.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Rowalt; his children, Carey (Mike) Gray and Kristina Lynn, Brandon (Merissa) Borden, Brittany (Duane Hill) Borden, Destiny (Kyle) Costella, and Chris (Tracie) Borden; his sisters, Fran (Rick) Dankovic and Sondra Rowalt; thirteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many cherished family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his nephew, David Wendling.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the family of Charles Rowalt.
