Carol Ann Selman

Carol Ann Selman, formerly of Mansfield and Norwalk, passed away at the age of 83 on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, in Hayesville, North Carolina, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Carol was born to David Wayne and June Rice on May 8, 1935, in Cleveland, Ohio.

She graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1953. On August 8, 1954, she married Yusuf F. Selman. Carol worked for Ohio Edison in Mansfield and Norwalk, where she retired. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ontario. She enjoyed working with the women's group at church on different projects. Carol loved going to Cedar Point with her grandson, Jason, family and friends. Carol was a kind and loving person to everyone she knew. She loved, and was loved by many.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Sally and Linzie Oney of Blairsville, GA; a grandson, Jason Oney of Oakwood, GA; a great-granddaughter, Olivia; a brother, Walter (Linda) Rice of Perrysville, OH; a sister, Janet (Alvin) Beer of Ontario, OH; brothers-in-law, Hysen Selman of Mansfield, OH and Nazif (Pat) Selman of Lacey, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In her passing, she has gone to be with the many loved ones that have passed before her including her father, mother, husband, and a great-niece, Brittany Eater.

The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, December 17, 2018, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. The funeral service conducted by Rev. Peg Welch will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest in Mansfield Cemetery.
