James E. Dixon

James E. Dixon, 79, of Manchester, New Jersey passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, peacefully at home with his devoted wife Marie by his side. Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, Jim lived most of his life in the Voorhees and Deptford areas before moving with his wife Marie to Manchester in 2008. Jim worked at the Owens Corning Fiberglass in Barrington, NJ, until it's closure, and then worked for various companies.

Jim was predeceased by his brothers Tom and Bobby. Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years, Marie Wilcox Dixon. He is survived by his family consisting of 8 children; Jim, Joseph, John, Jane, Jeffrey, Jacquie, Joel and Jerry, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Penny.

Jim's love of baseball/softball was from a very young age for a total of 60 years. His position was a "pitcher" for several different softball leagues including North Jersey, Berkeley and the Manchester areas. He was wonderful with children, especially the young ones, and was actually called "the child whisperer" by his family.

Besides softball and baseball, Jim's other interests included country dancing, where he met his wife Marie. He also enjoyed playing pinochle with the guys every afternoon during the week. He will be greatly missed and loved by family and many devoted friends.

Cremation was held privately.
