Frieda Sophie Janssen

Frieda Sophie Janssen, age 91, of Whiting, New Jersey passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024, at her home. Frieda was born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey. she lived in Roselle, NJ, and Greentown, PA before moving to Whiting. She had worked as a sales clerk for the Curtain Corner in Linden, NJ, for 22 years. Frieda loved playing Scrabble and poker, and making hook rugs and she was known for cooking her roasted beef and potato salad. She especially enjoyed her Saturday nights watching Pennsylvania Polka. Frieda will be truly missed by her family and friends.

Frieda was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Edward W. Janssen, Jr., just this past March, her daughter Susan Wilson, just this past June, her parents Harry and Josephine Kieseling, and her brothers and sister; Harry Kieseling, Albert Kieseling and Ruthie Kieseling. She is survived by her children; Edward W. Janssen, III, Richard P. Janssen and his wife Lisa, David J. Janssen and Carolyn Caporaso and her husband Joe, her son in law Tim Wilson, her 15 grandchildren; Kellie, Chris, EJ, Crystal, Phil, Joey, Melissa, Alyssa, Lauren, Heather, Katie, Josie, Ally, Michele and Tori, and 12 great grandchildren; JAC, Parker, Noelle, Julian, Ethan, Juliana, Elsie, Chloe, Louie, Noah, Hannah and Jaxson. She is also survived by her brother Walter Kieseling.

Family and friends are invited to the visitation for Frieda on Saturday October 26, 2024, from 3-7 pm, with a funeral service to place at 6:45 pm, at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, NJ 08759. Private cremation to follow.

Donations can be made in Frieda's memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
