Ernest Schneider, 94, passed away Sunday, November 10th, 2024. Ernest was born in Connecticut and then resided in Brooklyn, NY, where he met his beloved wife Jean. They moved to Old Bridge, NJ where they raised their two daughters. Ernest was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Old Bridge for many years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He served in the United States Army in the Korean War. Ernest commuted to New York City for his employment with Philip Morris for many years until his retirement. He and Jean then moved to the Renaissance community in Manchester New Jersey. Ernest enjoyed the beach, camping, golfing, a good game of pool, jigsaw puzzles and most of all, spending time with his family. He was a loving, caring, and amazing husband, dad, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all of those that knew and loved him.
He is predeceased by his wife, Jean Schneider, mother Stephanie, sister Estelle and many sister and brother in-laws.
Ernest is survived by his two beloved daughter's, Barbara Janowski and her husband, Tom of New Egypt, NJ and Lorraine Schneider of Belmar, NJ. He was a proud grandfather to Jeffrey Janowski, Kevin Janowski and his wife, Brittney, and his two great-grandsons, Landon and Cameron Janowski, whom he adored. He is also survived by many other loving family members.
There will be a visitation for Ernest on Thursday, November 14th, 2024 from 4pm to 8pm at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Rd., Manchester. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, November 15th at 10am at St. John's Church, 619 Chestnut St., Lakehurst, NJ. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 840 Cranbury-South River Rd., Jamesburg, NJ. Condolences and tributes to the Schneider family may be left on this website.
