Tommy, Patricia and Kevin,

So sorry for your loss.  I never really knew you Kevin, but many years ago I did some spot kid-sitting for Tommy and Pat when you lived on Leonardville Rd.  My friend John Laviola lived next door and your Mom and Dad would recruit me for a short visit if they had to run an errand.  Your dad would always pridefully have Tommy demonstrate a wrestling move ("Tommy show Gorms your bridge") before they left.  My family hailed from the same part of Newark as your Dad, so when I didn't want too hard of a phys ed class, Id corral him to the side and tell him I was in Krugs tavern over the weekend and we'd shoot the breeze while the class ran laps.  Hope he and your Mom remember me up above.  God bless you all.

Our Birthday Club started in 1989 when we worked together at The First National Bank of Toms River.  The 6 of us met each year to celebrate our birthdays and catch up on all our important family milestones.  Now Barbara joins Carolee, Lorraine and Mary for a heavenly celebration, while Pam and Marilyn continue to celebrate all the birthday club friends who have passed.

I’m so sorry to hear of Mom’s passing.  My deepest sympathies to you all and to your families.     I have wonderful memories of your Mom and your Dad and of growing up together with you all in Jackson as our neighbors.  Your Mom was a very classy lady and your Dad (Coach) always so much fun to be around.   He and a few other of our neighbors sure  made our neighborhood interesting.   Thinking of them together once again warms my heart.  
Memories of all the fun we had will always hold a special place in my heart.   Truly.

I was very sad to hear about Barbara’s passing, but upon reflection, the good memories surpass the current sad feelings. Her husband, Tony, was my high school wrestling coach, and the most important man in my life, other than my father. After high school I got to spend a lot of time with Tony and Barbara. We had a lot of great times together that I will never forget. I left New Jersey shortly after high school graduation, but Tony and Barbara kept me posted on what many of my CBA friends were doing. Sometimes the stories were good, but other times there were problems. Tony and Barbara always had an open door for everyone. Barbara will be missed by me and all who knew her. Rest in peace.

We have been friends for 84 years. The friendship has been very special to us throughout the years. I am thankful to have spent a few days with you earlier this year in Florida. We reminisced and giggled like we were kids again. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Barbara Chesney - i really didnt get to know u until aftee high school.  First i had to live through 4 difficult but wonderful years with ur husband.  First and formost he was a man of faith.   In the wrestling room he had a great sense of humor even as he pushed us quite hard.  I ended up being given by him  so many tools to live life well .  When i met and got to know u after  h.s. I saw that he  was not only grounded by his faith but by the love the two of u had for each other.  It was a pleasure to be in ur company. 
I am happy for u that now u are with God and ur husband and all the other saints 

Although we have never met any member of the Chesney Family, our son was a wrestler at Christian Brothers Academy .  The Chesney name  meant a lot to our family through the Chesney Fund and its contribution to our son's high school career.  With lots of gratitude, we offer our deepest condolences to the family.

Coach Chesney was a crucial factor in my life , as he coached me in Wrestling ,at CBA ,  and got me a lifeguard  job at White Sands Beach Club , in Long Branch for the summers of my years after graduating from CBA.  Most importantly , he introduced me to my Jersey Girl , Janice Leavy , from Long Branch , whom I married 4 years later , in August 1968.  We have just celebrated our 55th Anniversary , so , I guess it was the meeting of my life. 

We both enjoyed and loved Tony , and Barbara ,and they  always supported our relationship and happiness....even long after we moved from Jersey . His manly stature was a big draw for me, as my dad and mom divorced when I was 14 , and my dad moved away. Always up, always smiling, and ever  ready to skewer anyone who was false,  pompous, stuffy or too full of them selves , Tony meant a great deal to Jan and me . We told stories about him to our own kids when they grew , and never forgot the many kindnesses he and Barbara sent our way.   She was an unofficial Aunt in many ways 

Our love and affection goes out ... from both of us... to all of you and we recall so very many fond memories.  The Quinn family would not exist without the Chesneys....we are deeply grateful.
