2021 at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital as a result of surgery complications. She was born in
Oxford, PA on March 2nd, 1948, the eldest daughter of the late Alton W. Suosso and Helen Ruth
(Fargo) Suosso.
Sandy grew up in New Hampshire, living in Concord, Lee and finally settling in Manchester,
where she lived for most of her life before moving to Wells, ME in 2019. Sandy graduated from
Manchester Central HS, Class of 1966, playing clarinet in the marching band. Sandy also played
piano and guitar. She then attended Hesser College, UNH and NH College, now Southern NH
University, where she studied math and music.
Sandy married her husband, Richard Rogers, in 1974, and later gave birth to three children: Karl,
Emily and Gregory.
Sandy worked for 30 years and retired from the State of NH, Division of Health & Human
Services, where she was a QC Reviewer. After retirement, Sandy worked part-time as a
secretary for the Manchester Community College and the Youth Detention Center.
Sandy was a member of the Wells-Ogunquit Senior Center, participating in several activities for
seniors.
During her life, Sandy was a talented seamstress, having made her own wedding dress as well as
her bridesmaids' dresses. She also loved to quilt, play bridge and Scrabble with friends and online. She also cherished time spent with family, friends, and respected colleagues.
She is survived by her loving Husband of almost 47 years, Richard Rogers; two sons, Karl
Rogers and Gregory Rogers, both of Manchester; her daughter Emily (Rogers) Dyer and son-in law Adam Dyer, of Hampstead, NH; brother, Alton Suosso, Jr. and his wife, Anne of
Manchester; sisters Janet Hines and husband James, and Barbara Warner and husband Steve
Krammes, all of Wells, Maine; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. She is
predeceased by her parents Alton W. Suosso, Sr. and Helen (Fargo) Suosso.
A visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on July 8, 2021 at the McHugh Funeral
Home, located at 283 Hanover Street in Manchester, NH, with cremation to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Sandra Rogers' name to the NH Chapter of the
ASPCA.
