Rachel L. Brooks, born March 23,1926, in Manchester NH, passed suddenly at Hanover Hill Health Care Center on February 9, 2023, after a long period of declining health. She was the daughter of August and Marie St. Pierre.
In her life, Rachel was a loving, doting mother to her 4 sons and wife to Francis, her (deceased) husband of 45 years. During her younger years she enjoyed dancing and visiting with friends and family, and was known to be an excellent dancer.
In her later years, Rachel enjoyed cooking, visiting the beach, traveling to various locations in New England with, and practicing her deep faith, in Jehovah with her many friends over the years at Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Halls on Hanover Street and Candia Road in Manchester, and for a shorter period at Goffstown as well. At home, she would many spend hours studying and researching her faith.
Rachel was a very sweet woman with a big heart, who had many friends connected to her faith in Jehovah, and would always take the time to help anybody in need as best she could. She touched many lives. She never lost an opportunity to share her faith in Jehovah with anybody she knew, or for that matter, did not know. Leading by example, she always made sure her sons had a proper financial and social education for success in life.
Due to her father August's (whom she adored immensely) traumatic and untimely death at a young age, Rachel was unable to finish her secondary education in Manchester parochial schools, as she had to enter the workforce along with her sisters Estelle and Cecile to help support her widowed mother.
Rachel also worked as a retail clerk at Pariseau's in Manchester, before turning her focus to domestic housewife for Francis and the growing family. She later worked as a trusted professional housekeeper for a family in the North End for many years before retirement.
Rachel leaves behind her sons Gary, Ronald, and David, as well as 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Francis, son John, sisters Estelle and Cecile, brother Wilfred, niece Elaine, and in-laws.
After cremation, a short private burial ceremony for immediate family is planned for Spring 2023, date TBD. Rachel's memorial service for her family and friends, and all who knew and enjoyed Rachel's companionship in her faith will take place at the Kingdom Hall located at 1745 Candia Rd, Manchester, NH 03109 on June 3, 2023 at 3:00pm.
The family would like to extend their deep gratitude for the quality care Rachel received at Hanover Hill Health Care Center in her final years. Please, refrain from any flowers or donations at this time.
