Diane B. (Harris) Bolos, 83, of Manchester died peacefully Monday, August 8th at Catholic Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late William G. Bolos, who died on February 8th, 1993.
Born in Brighton, MA on February 20,1939, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Athena (Manolis) Harris. She received her education from the Boston School System and achieved her Associates degree from Fisher College in Boston, MA. Diane lived in Manchester, NH for most of her life. She was a member of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church. She worked as a hostess at Mr. Steak for many years. Before her retirement, she worked as a Human Resources Director for St. Teresa Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Diane was always happiest while in the company of others. She always had a smile and great conversation for anyone she met. She was a wonderful cook and made delicious Greek recipes for her family, her favorite being Spanakopita. She was an avid follower of Boston sports, most importantly the Red Sox and the Patriots. For much of her life, she enjoyed her getaways to the mountains and Cape Cod, where she loved indulging in the best seafood and ice cream and spending precious time with her sister and her family. She was a big fan of crossword puzzles, always keeping her books nearby. Above all, Diane was most proud of her family, and she will always be remembered as the most loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Diane is survived by her two daughters, Valerie A. MacDonald and husband Scott of Raymond, and Andrea A. Sapienza and husband Edward of Manchester; four grandchildren, Alicia MacDonald, Kayleigh Cardinal (Ryan), William MacDonald (Brenda), and Angelo Sapienza (Kristin); three great grandsons, Robert, Ben and Vinny; sister Elaine Efstathiou and husband Andrew of West Yarmouth, MA; sister in law Janet Harris of Plymouth, MA; and many nieces and nephews. Diane was predeceased by her sister Mary Argeropoulos and husband Christos, and her brother Perry Harris.
SERVICES: Visitation will take place from 10:00am-11:00am on Friday August 12th at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 111 Island Pond Rd, Manchester, NH, with the funeral service to begin immediately after at 11 am. Burial to follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Assumption Greek Orthodox Church and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
