Jay was born and raised in Manchester, NH by his parents Dale and Mary (Cook). He was a very proud graduate of Manchester Central High (Go Little Green!). He worked at Velcro USA for 22 years before his diagnosis. Most recently, he worked at Harbor Freight Tools, and cherished the family he made there. Jay celebrated 30 years of marriage to his wife, Tamie (Lang). Together they raised two amazing daughters, Hannah Louise, and Hailey Patricia.
Jay had a passion to create and invent. He combined his two favorite hobbies with the many projects he shared with his youngest daughter, Hailey, teaching her the way around a workshop. Jay was a diehard fan of all New England Sports and wasn’t shy about wearing all the team colors at the same time. Not known for his fashion but more for his crazy sense of humor, infectious smile, compassionate spirit, love of Aerosmith, and ability to be friends with everybody. Jay was a well‐loved soul.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Hannah, and his childhood sidekick, Buddy Fournier. He will be fiercely missed by Tamie and Hailey along with his favorite sisters, Patty, Jodi, and Krissy who, with Jay, made up the fabulous foursome. And let us not forget Apple Jay’s beloved Goddaughter, Shennin Mary, and so many much‐loved nieces, nephews, in‐laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Calling Hours will be held on Thursday from 3 to 7 pm at McHugh Funeral Home, 283 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH 03104. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 am at St. Jude Parish, 435 Mammoth Rd in Londonderry.
He will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford. We will certainly miss Jay’s uncanny ability to make us laugh until our bellies hurt.
Farewell brother, until we meet again…
