Gloria Horowitz, age 89, of Monroe Township, New Jersey passed away on Saturday December 7, 2024. She was born on May 23, 1935 in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, New York. She and her husband moved to Wilmohr Street in East Flatbush when they got married. She, her husband, and later their son Steven, moved to Paerdegat 11th Street, and then to Paerdegat 1st Street, in the Canarsie section of Brooklyn.
While living in Brooklyn, Gloria was employed by Proudfoot Hosiery in Manhattan as a biller and receptionist. She retired in 1990 and in 1991, moved to Monroe Township, first living in the over 55 senior development, known as Concordia, and by 1997, moved next door to the Ponds where she lived for the next 27 years.
She loved listening to popular music, watching movies, travelling both domestically and abroad, taking cruises with family & friends, and spending time with her husband, son, and entertaining her friends, brothers and sister at home.
She was predeceased by her husband Irving Horowitz in 2014; her brother Samuel Allweiss; her sister Harriet Severino; and her sister Sandra Cohen.
Surviving are her son Steven H. Horowitz; her sister Pearl Abramowitz; her sister Estelle; and her brother Nathan Allweiss and his wife Dina.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Beth Abraham Cemetery, 617 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, New Jersey 08816.
