On November 27, 2019, Stephen Bonner passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on April 24, 1949 in Philadelphia, PA. Son to Vera and Jack. He is dearly loved and will be missed by his beloved wife Deborah and their five children, fourteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Daughters Kelli Scimitarra, her husband Mark, and their children Mark and Emilia; Kris McHale, her husband Joe, and their daughters Amber and Devyn; Jennifer Duran, her husband Jimmy, and their children Leslie, Mariah, Dafne, Samantha, Jacob and Hailey; Heather McClellan, her husband Michael, and their children Grace, Ryan, and Chloe. Son Jamison and his daughter Reagan.
Granddaughter Amber Morrisey, her husband Mike, and their children Brayden and Lucas. Brother John Bonner and his wife Mimi. Sister Leslie Santacroce and her husband Frank.
Steve worked at Stafford Township Police where he proudly served his community for many years. He was the recipient of numerous awards and commendations. He worked as a detective, promoted to Sergeant, and retired with the rank of Lieutenant. He was dedicated to his job and his fellow officers. He was committed to making Stafford Township a great place to live.
Steve famously loved his weekends and vacations celebrating life with his family and friends. He loved his happy hour beers and wings, football, and of course singing. His joy and laughter made a lasting impression and will be sorely missed.
Everyone knew Steve’s love for all animals, especially his well fed, spoiled dogs. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Steve’s memory to Southern Ocean County Animal Shelter, 306 Haywood Rd. Manahawkin, NJ 08050.
All friends and family are invited to a memorial service at Shinn Funeral Home in Manahawkin on Saturday, the 7th of December, from 2 to 4PM.
