Pasquale loved God, Family and Country.
Born in Orange, NJ on Easter Sunday April 20, 1930, to Michael and Maria Turturro, he was one of eight children and is survived by a sister, Diana English.
In 1948 Pasquale enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and served 14 months in the Korean War. Upon returning home he worked at American Steel Foundry in Newark, NJ where he met the love of his life, Rose Lindia, and they were married on February 14, 1954. Pasquale was devoted to his wife for 68 years until Rose’s death in 2022.
Pasquale leaves a legacy of love and fidelity to his three daughters and their families, Patricia and Anthony Pastore, Michele Turturro and David Young, and JoAnn and Chris Ottobre; his grandchildren Anthony and Nicole Pastore, Patric and Justina Pastore, Michael and Tiffany Pastore, Michelle Ottobre and partner Peter Roman, Alexa and Vincent DiSimone; and his great grandchildren, in whom he took such delight, Natalie, Alessia, Luna, Patric, Aurora and Adelina.
Pasquale was co/owner of EvaRose Pizzeria in Jersey City and, after closing that business, continued making pizzas throughout his life, sharing them generously with family, friends, and neighbors. Pasquale’s pizzas were legendary and earned him the nickname “Pizza Pat”. After honing his woodworking skills, he joined Carpenters Local 620 in Madison, NJ, where he worked until retirement. The one job he most often reflected upon was hanging the Crucifix in Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Mountainside, NJ.
Upon retirement Pasquale and Rose moved to Barnegat where they enjoyed hosting family and friends. They were parishioners at St. Mary’s Parish where Pasquale also volunteered cooking for “Ken’s Kitchen”.
Pasquale was “once a Marine, always a Marine” and took immense pride in his service to his country, only outshined by his love for his family.
In lieu of flowers or donations, please remember Pasquale in your prayers.
