Born in New York City, he resided in Brooklyn NY and Staten Island, NY before moving to Toms River, NJ upon his retirement.
Michael was predeceased by his beloved wife Lorraine and his beloved son, Michael.
He is survived by his loving daughters; Laura Macellari and her husband Ken and Linda Restaino and her husband Frank. He is also survived by his 9 cherished grandchildren and his 19 precious great-grandchildren as well as many caring nieces and nephews.
Michael, along with his brothers owned and operated Romano Brothers Trucking Company.
He was a Big Brother for many years to John Rutherford.
Mike volunteered in his community during the elections. He enjoyed helping others in need. He was a good handyman.
He had a passion of restoring older cars and going to car shows to show them off. He enjoyed boating, fishing, & ice hockey. He loved taking care of his garden. He loved his many pets through the years.
Above all else, he cared deeply about his family and many friends. The times spent with them were priceless.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 13, 2021 from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm at the Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:45 on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 747 W. Bay Ave, Barnegat, NJ with burial to follow at the Ocean View Cemetery 3315 Amboy Rd, Staten Island, NY.
