On January 13, 2021, our beloved Joseph Nagy, Jr. passed away after a brief illness. Joe was born in Passaic, NJ in 1953 and was raised in South Toms River. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph Sr., mother Josephine, sister Katherine, and brother Leonard. He proudly served as a volunteer member of the Toms River Fire Company, Station No. 1. Joe worked for 43 years as a Store Readiness Manager for the 7-11 Corporation before his retirement in 2019. During those years, he really enjoyed meeting and working with many franchise owners and operators and was known for his hard work and dependability. He was completely dedicated to his children, and never missed a game or event important to their lives. Joe was a favorite among his children’s friends, who could always count on “Mr. Nags” to bake up his famous peanut butter cupcakes, or whip up some chocolate chip pancakes for the kids. He was honored to be a member of the James Volpe Foundation and never missed an opportunity to volunteer at the Wiffleball fundraiser event.
Joe was devoted to, and is survived by his wife Robin, sister Millie Burghorn, brother Samuel Nagy, loving children Jennifer Seagle, Joseph Nagy & wife Tiffany, and son Jake Nagy. Joe was the cherished Grandpa and Grampy to his wonderful grandchildren, Anthony and Aiden Seagle, and Nico and Gracia Nagy. Joe will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and dear friends and will always be remembered as the sweetest, kindest man imaginable. He leaves a legacy of love to all.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Joe’s memory may be made to the James Volpe Foundation at 249 Don Connor Blvd Jackson, NJ 08527.
