Terry Lee Green “Jelly Bean”, of Shrewsbury, moved on to a higher place on September 30th at 9:00 a.m. Terry finally won his 20 year contest with Lung Cancer and fell asleep quietly with total peace after a short stay at CAMC Memorial in Charleston. Terry was born November 18th 1946 in Ward to his late parents, Maywood and Reba Green of Cedar Grove. Terry was a Cedar Grove High graduate, served in the Air Force, started college at WV Tech, attended Marshall, Ohio State and returned to WV Tech to graduate with Baccalaureate of Science in accounting. With over 30 years in the coal mines, Terry retired from Coal River Energy in 2007 to his residence on the Kanawha River, where he was avid boater and fisherman. Terry’s competitive nature not only allowed his 20-year battle with cancer to continue but gave time for his mastered skills of billiards, tennis, math, fiscal responsibility, work ethic and joke telling to be enjoyed by all that he came in contact with. Terry was a rabid Mountaineer fan that was as much fun to watch watching the game as the games themselves. As a most loyal husband, dedicated and providing father and grandfather, Terry has left everlasting and positive marks on those who knew him. The sadness of his loss will only be overcome by knowing his new destination with the Lord. Terry is survived by his devoted wife, Martha Green of 49 years; son, Ernie Green; son, Michael and Lynn Green, all of Shrewsbury. Terry had three grandchildren, Cam, Jared and Molly who were the enlightenment of his retirement. Also surviving is his sister, Sandy Stone Pritchard of Glasgow; and many other cousins, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Saturday, October 4, 2014, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden. The memorial service will be held 12:00 p.m. with the Rev. Ravi Isaiah officiating. After the service, there will be a gathering of family and friends from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the residence, 1118 Dorothy Drive, Belle, 25015.
