Surviving are his wife of 73 years, Inza (Pittman) Morton; son, Lew Morton; grandson, Ron Morton; sister-in-law, Carol (Susie) Vaughan and husband, Rodney, of Charleston, South Carolina; sister-in-law, Macel Shafer and husband, Wayne, of Charleston, West Virginia; and many other relatives from both sides of his and Inza’s family.
Ronald was a resident of Campbells Creek where he was born and raised. Ronald was known to be one of the kindest folks, always willing to lend a helping hand and was known for his stories and jokes. He was a lifelong railroader with 41+ years on various railroads to include the Campbells Creek Railroad retiring from ConRail in 1991. He will be missed by all.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 2, 2023, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, with the Rev. Fred Christian officiating. Burial will follow at Pittman Cemetery, Charleston.
A visitation with family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service.
