She was born on October 20, 1918 in Putnam County to the late Grandville and Leona Ethel Pierson.
Florence was a member of Walnut Gap Missionary Baptist Church and retired from Superior Laundry.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Toler; daughter, Patricia Holt; and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by daughter, Leona Moore of St. Albans; brother, Charles Pierson of Charleston; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 20, 2016, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, with the Rev. Ron Perry officiating. The burial will follow the service at Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney.
Family and friends will gather for a visitation on Sunday, June 19, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
