She taught Sunday school, worked in Vacation Bible School, and a member of the Ladies Circle. Della was a wonderful cook, best known for her graham cracker pie. She loved to sing, play piano, sew, crochet and work puzzles. She graduated from Clay County High School in 1941 and attended Charleston School of Commerce with certificates in shorthand and typing. She worked for Nelson Transfer in Charleston until her marriage to Ober. Della volunteered at Saint Francis Hospital for eight years. Della was a healthy, vibrant and spunky woman her entire life.
