Born on October 14, 1947, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Day; her parents, Willie and Frank Nuckles; and her sister, Mary Jane Coleman.
Susie leaves to cherish her memory are her three children; Kimberly Campbell (Chris), Chris Day (Andra), and Tony Day (Anne), her five grandchildren; Kayla Dodd (Justin), Jenna Brogan (John), Blake Day, Ian Day, and Lennon Meadows; her five great-grandchildren; Madison Drewry, Channing Bryant, Arizona Brogan, Ellie Dodd, and Tucker Brogan; and her loving and devoted brother, Walter Ford.
Susie lit up every room she entered with her positivity, smile, laughter, and faith in God. She was the sweetest lady to ever grace your life, never meeting a stranger or speaking an unkind word about anyone. As our father often said, “She would give water to the devil if he was thirsty.”
The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to Centra Hospice for their care and support, especially Brooke Harris, her nurse, who cried and prayed with Kim throughout this journey. Though she will be deeply missed, our tears are for us, as we know she is celebrating in Heaven.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 16, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel. A Celebration of Life will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel, with Pastor Jessie Dunaway officiating. Burial will take place at Fort Hill Memorial Park following the service. Additional times of celebration will be held at the home of Susie’s daughter, Kim, at 439 Rothwood Road, Monroe, VA 24574.
