Sandra "Cookie" Robertson

Sandra Lee “Cookie” Robertson, 78, of Lynchburg went home to be with her heavenly father, Saturday, February 12, 2022. Born in Lynchburg, January 23, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Archie and Minnie Robertson. She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Robertson. Cookie is survived by her long time and devoted best friend of 60 plus years, Della Dudley. Their bond couldn’t be broken. Together they operated Dudley’s restaurant for over 40 years. Cookie cherished her employees and loving customers. Before her restaurant career, she retired from Lynchburg Wholesale Florist with 35 years of service. She was a member of Park View United Methodist Church and enjoyed watching sermons on TV from Thomas Road Baptist Church and Jimmy Swaggart Ministries. She loved traveling to Charleston, WV to the casinos and sitting on her porch listening to scanners. She was also an avid baseball fan, especially the Washington Nationals. She is also survived by Reggie Dudley whom she considered a son, and his wife Vikki and his son Justin Dudley and his wife Jeri and their sons, Jackson and Kris. She is also survived by two darling sisters, Mary Dove and Pat Bryant; her loving brother, Robert Robertson and his wife Cynthia; she is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Paul Dudley and her sister-in-law, Brenda Robertson. The family would like to thank Dr. Brenda Kozak for the care she provided. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Spring Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Marvin Busie officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at Whitten Monelison Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Amherst Humane Society.
