Michael Dodd Lowe, “Mommy’s Sunshine”, 47, of Lynchburg, died, Friday, February 17, 2023 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born in Lynchburg, he was the loving son of Nancy Martin Lowe, his care provider for 47 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Ricky Lowe and a special uncle, Roy Lee Martin and his grandparents, Hester Dodd Martin, Sr. and Nancy Mays Martin. In addition to his mother, Michael is survived by his uncle, Richard Riley Martin and a cousin, “Little Rachel”. Michael was a loving child with special needs and he was his mommy’s world. He attended the Arc of Central Virginia, until Covid.
A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. (noon), Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Pastor Larry Fitzgerald officiating. Interment will follow at Amherst Cemetery.
The family will receive friends, at the funeral home, for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The ARC of Central Virginia, 1508 Bedford Ave., Lynchburg, VA 24501.
