Born on March 2, 1955 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Plum Harvey Campbell and Shirley Jane Campbell.
He graduated from Amherst County High School and worked as a Logger for 20 years before working and retiring from Glad/Clorox, where he worked for 21 years. He was a good Husband and Father and was known to be outspoken and stubborn but always had the best intentions. He enjoyed woodworking, camping and fishing at the beach. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Gayle Campbell; children Mark Ryan Campbell, Crystal Lane, step-sons Michael Routon and Sean Routon; grandchildren Cheyennee Bliss, Camron Routon, Jaiden Routon, Matthew Routon, Nathan Routon, Rosemary Lane and Evelyn Campbell; and two brothers, Timothy Lee Campbell (Stephanie) and Phillip Dick Campbell (Beverly).
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Pastor Dwayne Martin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Internment will follow at Briarwood Memorial Gardens.
