Elizabeth Layne Bryant

Born June 23, 1931 in Prince Edward County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Henry Steptoe Layne and Mary Flowers Dalton. Mrs. Bryant was retired from G.E./Ericsson. She attended Grace Baptist Church in Madison Heights.

Mrs. Bryant is survived by three daughters, Brenda B. Taylor and Wanda B. Coffey and husband Arnold, both of Madison Heights, and Tammy B. Proffitt and husband Timmy of Amherst; grandchildren, Willie Taylor and wife Donna, Brian Taylor and wife Angie, , Andy Coffey and wife Catherine, Stacey Stinson and husband Colin, and Matthew Proffitt and wife Raina.

She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Summer Harris and husband Justin, Hannah Coffey, and Cameron Stinson; two great-great-grandchildren, Avery Harris and D.J. Harris and four step-grandchildren, Mikaela Browning and husband Jonathan, Hank Meeks, Matthew Tyree, and Sabrina Zegarelli.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with Pastor George Lee officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
