Dorothy Joan Gray went to be with her Lord and Savior Yeshua Hamashiach on September 26, 2024. Joan was cared for and surrounded by her husband, her sons, and her beloved sister Nancy, as she passed from this life into the arms of her Lord and Savior.
Joan, born June 8, 1954, met the love of her life David E. Gray at the Amelia Church of God. They were married on October 18, 1969, in Dillon, South Carolina. They walked hand and hand through life’s trying valleys always prevailing onto the glorious mountain tops with their love for one another and the grace of GOD. Together Joan and David raised two sons, David E. Gray, Jr. and Steven K. Gray. October 18, 2024, would have marked 55 years of marriage for Joan and David, Sr.
Joan was an exceptional woman, a loving wife, a doting mother, and a masterful homemaker. She was especially well known for her creativity and for her extraordinary cooking and catering skills. She was second to no one in the kitchen.
Joan’s faith was anchored in our Heavenly Father. In years past she sang in the churches she attended. Also, she led the Young Ladies Ministries for Meadowood Church of God and Monroe Church of God.
Joan was preceded in death by her baby brother Danny, her mother Lucille Ray Tuck Newcomb, and her father Roy Saunders Newcomb.
Joan is survived by her Husband David, Sr. and her two sons David, Jr. and Steven. Also, her sisters Nancy and Betty along with her brothers Buddy, Roger, Howard, and Bobby.
No words can express how Joan will be missed. It is because of her faith in Yeshua Hamashiach we know she is in Heaven and no longer suffering. This brings us peace.
