Barbara Belcher was born on February 24th, 1948 in Morgantown, West Virginia; and she spent most of her childhood growing up in Bramwell, West Virginia. She had four major goals in life—to be a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Bobbie spent her entire life mastering each and every one of those roles to perfection. She was happily married to her husband, Douglas W. Belcher for more than 57 years. During that time, Bobbie had 3 beautiful children and 6 grandchildren that she loved more than anything. She was a stay-at-home mom by trade. In between raising her children and babysitting her grandchildren, Bobbie, once again, surrounded herself around little ones by working as a teacher’s aid and secretary at the Amherst County Public Schools. When she wasn’t with her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids; Bobbie’s second favorite things were traveling, reading, and family beach trips.
Bobbie is preceded in death by her parents Elza (Bud) Estep and Margaret Estep, her son Kevin Belcher, her brother Ted Estep, her sister-in-law Charlotte Estep, her sister Patricia Dawson, and her brother-in-law James R. (Buzzy) Dawson.
She is survived by her husband, Douglas Belcher; sister, Linda Miles; 2 daughters, Kimberly Belcher and Kristy Godfrey; daughter-in-law, Teresa Belcher; 6 grandchildren, Ryan Jones (Amanda Jones), Hailey Downey (Nathaniel Downey), Alexandria Clay (Tyler Clay), Brittany Jones, Morgan Beck (Angus Beck II), Madison Belcher; and 6 great grandchildren Levi Beck, Blair Clay, Ryland Downey, Amelia Jones, Adaline Downey, Lucas Beck; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
