Bill spent 30 years of his professional life at General Motors, where he made significant contributions to the field of engineering. Bill had a deep passion for music and was an accomplished trumpet player. He performed with the Warren concert band and was a cherished member of the Redford Civic Symphony Orchestra. His love for music extended beyond performance; he also served on the board for the Warren concert band, helping to guide and support the organization by taking on HR and website duties.
Outside of his professional and musical endeavors, Bill enjoyed a variety of hobbies. He was an enthusiastic participant in arts and crafts and had a particular fondness for NASCAR and short-track racing. Bill was also an avid home brewer and proud member of the Khunen Guild of Brewers group where he shared his love for craft beer.
Bill's community involvement was extensive. He has been a member and secretary of a featherball league since 1992, demonstrating his commitment and organizational skills. He was also deeply involved with the Boy Scouts Of America, serving as a Cubmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster, and most recently Committee Chair, where he influenced and mentored many young lives.
Bill was a beloved husband for 26 years with 35 years together to Heather Boelke, Loving Father to Austin (Jaclyn Tockstein) Boelke, Joseph (Jessica Richter) Boelke, and Jennifer Boelke, and cherished brother to his beloved friends with the Band of Brothers.
A visitation for Bill will be held Thursday, May 30, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Edward Swanson and Son Funeral Home, 30351 Dequindre Rd., Madison Heights, MI 48071.
The Family will greet guests on Friday, May 31, 2024, from 10:00 AM up until the time of the Service at 11:00 AM at Edward Swanson and Son Funeral Home, 30351 Dequindre Rd., 30352 Dequindre Rd., Madison Heights, MI 48071
