Tom was born in Teaneck N.J. on March 14,1944 and is predeceased by his father Michael Hession; his mother Marion Hession; and his sister Margaret Galgano. He is survived by his brother Michael Hession; beloved wife Marianne Hession; three loving children, Scott (Lauren) Hession, Laura (Derek) Green; Sharon (Timothy) Gaiser; and the apple of his eye, his granddaughter Charlotte Green, who brought more joy to him than he ever possibly could have imagined.
Tom grew up in Ridgewood N.J. and went on to attend college at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York where he obtained his degree in engineering before going on to receive his MBA from Hartford University. Tom and his wife Marianne were the ultimate ‘True Love’ story. They first met in grammar school, began dating in college and went on to marry on Nov. 20th, 1965, having just celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary this past November.
Tom and Marianne raised their family in Connecticut, and Tom was a loving, devoted, hardworking father and husband. Tom was an avid tennis player and also enjoyed many outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking, and sailing. Tom possessed incredible wit, with a sense of humor unmatched and was also a man of many talents. Tom had a passion for music and loved strumming his guitar and singing John Denver or Billy Joel songs, as well as playing his sweet melodies on the keyboard and organ.
Most of all, Tom was a man of great integrity and great compassion who held an inherent deep sense of loyalty and love for his family. He will be incredibly missed, but forever loved and cherished by everyone who knew him.
Tom’s family will be holding a private family memorial and invite you to make a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Tom’s honor.
