Thomas L. Alford, age 76 of Madison passed away on January 24, 2012. Thomas was born in Pine Bluff AR on October 29, 1935 to the late Lanta and Faye (Rhodes) Alford. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his loving wife Tarja (Timonen) Alford.
“Tommy”, as many of his friends called him, was a Naval Aviator, flying fighter airplanes from 1953-1965 with the VF-193 Ghostriders. He then went on to be a commercial airline pilot for Pan Am and United Airlines, retiring in 1998. During his retirement he worked as a Range Officer at the Blue Trail Gun Range in Wallingford, CT, where he made many beloved friends.
Thomas is survived by his son and daughter, Thomas T. Alford and Terhi Alford of Madison, CT and his brother Wayne Alford of Pine Bluff, AR.
An informal gathering of friends will take place at the Madison Coffee Shop on Monday, January 30, 2012 from 6:00PM-7:00pm.
