Anita S Ruge

Anita Selma Ruge, 90, passed away on June 11, 2022. She was born on April 7, 1932 to Selma and Aksel Abrahamsen, in South Ozone Park (Queens) New York and was educated in the New York City school system. Anita married Fred Ruge in 1953 and relocated to Madison, CT where they raised their five children.

Anita is survived by her children; Susan (Edward) Weeks of Camden, ME; Gail (Steven) Domin of West Suffield, CT; Frederick (Jackie) Ruge of Moses Lake, WA; a son-in-law, Elliott Carpenter of Camden, ME and Diane (Jack) Hennessy of The Villages, FL as well as 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, a brother, Arthur Abrahamsen of Lady Lake, FL, and a sister Jean Shannon of Palm Harbor, FL.

Anita was predeceased by her husband, Fred, her daughter, Judith Carpenter, brothers Robert, Edwin and Roger Abrahamsen and great granddaughter Hieron Cash.

Anita found much joy in remembering and mailing greeting cards to all she knew and for all occasions. Anita and her family would like to extend their gratitude to all the family and friends that provided their help and support to Anita over the years.

A celebration of her life will be held in private by her family. As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made in Anita’s memory to a charity of the donor’s choice.
