Andrew Carl Zahornacky

Andy to some, Carl to others, was born in Bridgeport to Dagmar. and Andrew Zahornacky on February 10, 1937. He married the love of his life and wife of 51 years, Grace Elizabeth Denison on February 7, 1964. Andy was a 21 year veteran of the USAF, where he achieved the rank of Major, and a veteran of the Viet Nam war, where he served as a navigator in Strategic Air Command. Andy was a zealous supporter of Scheutzen Rifles and the gun community. He was a loving husband, a beloved friend and brother, and devoted father.

Andy is preceded in death by his wife and grandson Timothy.

‘Dad’ is survived by daughter Joan and son-in-law Ronald (whom he treated as a son), daughter Shannon, son Michael, and daughter Linnea, brothers Robert and Richard, and grandsons Evan and Sage.

Graveside rememberance will be held on Friday, June 24, 2022 at 1:00pm in All Saints Cemetery of North Haven. Arrangements are by Swan Funeral Home.
